Students in any extracurricular activities will be subject to a grade check on the 1st and 15th of each month. Any student who has a grade under a 70, a failing grade in accordance with the grading policy of Saint Maria Goretti Catholic School, will be put on academic probation.
Academic probation begins on the date of notice and continues until the next grade check period. Students on academic probation will be allowed to participate in practices and/or meetings related to their extracurricular activity. However, students will not be able to participate in any competitions, games, field trips, or any other functions outside of practices or meetings. During this period, students are strongly encouraged to attend tutorials.
Any student who is failing for consecutive periods, or is failing two or more classes at any time, will be placed on academic suspension until the next grade check period. Students on suspension are restricted from all activities and functions related to their extracurricular activity. This includes meetings, practices, games, competitions, field trips, etc. During this period, it is mandatory for students to attend school-sponsored tutorials. Once a student is placed on academic suspension, the suspension will continue until such time the student has demonstrated a personal commitment to their academic excellence and has achieved passing grades in all subjects at the time grade checks are completed.
